In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act. George Orwell
Today’s question is this: are we living in a time of universal deceit? And if we are living in a time of universal deceit what can we as individuals do about it?
Perhaps the single most transformative thing we can do is concentrate on telling as much of the truth as possible. But let us remember that at any time to be a revolutionary for the truth carries extreme consequences. Are we willing to face those consequences?

I'm afraid you are right, there are too few people who are willing to face the consequences of being truthful in a world where lying is celebrated.
At work and in family relationships, I make it my responsibility to point out and often speak the truth. Frequently, it hurts and the truth- bearer bears the grunt. I become unpopular, sometimes disliked, at one time, even got myself into a legal battle. The amount of lies and cover-ups one can do to protect personal interests and a circle of buddies are dismally unbelievable! You can measure character and friendships by sticking by Truth. So, yes, Vic I take the consequences, the cajoles, even the loss of some potential friends... but at the end of the day, I sleep well :)
